In Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein", why does Frankenstein become obsessed with creating life?
Frankenstein became obsessed with creating life after his mother died from contracting the scarlet fever. Before that, he was already kinda obsessed with how life is created, but with the death of his mother, he became even more obsessed with whether someone can return back from the dead and if he can make it happen. While studying the human anatomy at the university he begun digging up dead bodies and experimenting with electricity. thus begin his quest to create the perfect creature.
