Can i be sued for lying about selling something?

I posted something up on craigslist and someone offered to buy it and I gave that person my address and as soon as I got off the phone my stepmom said she wanted to buy the computer so I tried calling the guy back and he didn't answer so when he got here we acted like we had never herd of the person and said that we weren't selling any thing so he left and later on the guy searched the address and I my email is my name so he knew we were lying and he sent me an email saying that we either pay him $25 for gas or he takes us to court
