Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) - Insolent Turncoat?

Rory McIlroy, the new golfing sensation born and raised in Northern Ireland (United Kingdom) has in my opinion shown utter contempt for his country and its people by choosing to lend his talent to another nation, namely The Republic of Ireland, for the golfing world cup. He is not the first and he will not be the last to insult his nation so. Why do they do it? Have they no dignity?
