David Gilmore, you confuse me!!?

Well first of all it wasn't Dave Gilmour who wrote the song to begin with it was Roger Waters. Roger wrote most of the lyrics for the band but at the time he had little confidence in his vocals which is why Dave and Rick Wright did most of the vocals in those days. Anyway the song is adapted from a poem (I forget the author's name or the name of the poem) about growing up. Thus the name "Childhood's End".
