TAX Questions! Please help if you can!?

I am newly married with one kid. My husband is in the Army. Last year I worked for a few months in an office and for another few months as an at-home childcare provider. I guess we'll be filing jointly. Since my hubby's in the Army, and since I was self employed for a while, would it be in our best interest to find a professional tax preparer or do it on our own online? We don't have much money for the professional thing, so if ANYONE knows of a good, cheap company (I have heard H&R Block and Liberty are really expensive) please let me know. Also, has anyone gone through the IRS website and used "FreeFile"? If so, is it easy and do you think we should do it in our situation? Thanks!
